1) . Media texts are profit motivated. Consider this in the light of TV news. What issues does this raise?

As television programmes and channels are put on air for mainly two purposes , entertainment and profit. By entertaining a viewer it can result into the viewer watching more televsion and their channel which increases the programme or channels rating and can overal give more profit . Also if a programme is viewed alot , it would be bought by the broadcasting channel which will also give out profit aswell , however, if a programme isnt doing as well as it should be , the programme wouldnt be bought and the motivation of profit would become a failure.

2) Which media companies do you think could be accused of having too much power and control in our society?

photographers are shown to have power and control in society , paparazii , are the main media companies which influences the decisions and chooses of people in soicety today. The paparazzi can influence the way a person can think and look and can instantly manipulate a persons mind by labeling a text in a certain way or taking a photograph of a person or object and change the captions and turn the image in to a sensationalist headline or story.
