Mr Bush media trip notes

- Firstly media was taken as a "Mickey Mouse" subject , as it was seen non academic and not really a subject that can take you far in life.
- The subject was also seen as a soft subject aswell .
- However media outlooks are changing fast and the opinions of people are changing of media , and many students all over the country are taken it up as a subject
- When doing your coursework , make sure you take you time and organise your work correctly so that you have a time to edit and shoot your video
- Make sure your video makes sense and isnt just a clip , make it have purpose and a genre .
- Make sure you magazine looks effiecent and has the correct amount of pictures/text and that it looks life like
- How media is changing and how media is taking over on computers and television , how newspaper curculation has declinced and how people mainly go online to read newspapers ad reviwew gossip and information

dominant advert Jaime oliver

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSnwhlFLNFI&feature=related

This advert is quick and shows Jaime Oliver a male cooking. This is werid for a male to do as its not a norm or a value for males to do in society. It would normally be the female doing this job role of cooking , but its Jaime oliver doing it instead. Also this advert would be aimed towards females though as females are the ones who mainly go shopping and cook for the family.
Therefore this advert is strangly structed out as the advert is oringnally aimed towards females yet have a male doing it , the advert could also pass of for being for a man aswell . It shows a alternaltive point of males in society today .

Lynx Advert

The links advert basically shows a male applying the product on himself , and then gets all the females after him in the advert. The females are mainly protrayed as chasing the male in the advert and also following the dominat figure. This advert shows males that if they buy the links product they will have females chasing them , just like the advert. It is quiet biast and unrelistic.

The dominant factor within this advert is that the females are chasing the male around , rather than the usually norm of males following the females.
This advert would be targeted to teenage and young adult males as this product is specially for males and made for males aswell.

It also shows middle classesd working females within the advert which goes against the norm of females not ebing able to work and how their place is only in the kitchin and at home with their children and husband.
This advertvert is also dominat as the female is later shown as a sex symbol later on in the advert.

reebok advert cover lesson

This advert portray violence in the ways of language that is used. As the narrator ask 50cent who he will massacre next it shows sources of violence of 50cent killing people of.
Also in the video it shows the number of times 50 cent got shoot. This is a good example to use for the advert as it shows that 50cent has been put down many times in his life, nearly killed but still has made it to the top. It shows that 50cents competitors may of been jealous and tried to put him down but couldn’t as he came back up again. This is a good source of similes as it shows a similar way that Reeboks background history is. As Reebok has competitors and has lost customers and money but still will come back on the top again.

The target audience for Reebok is teenagers as it shows 50cent whom appeals to the teenage market, also as Reebok is a sportswear and manly young people buy Reebok for sports or a fashion statement. The teenager target audience may not be affected by the advert but the older consumers in the adult range would be as it shows explicit sources of violence.

The advert shouldn’t be banned by of stead as it’s not really sexually explicit and doesn’t really have explicitly of violence either. The content used for the video like the narrator is quite normal and doesn’t use swear words within the clip. Therefore the video should stay on and shouldn’t really be taken of due to the history of 50cent. The violence portrayed isn’t made up for entertainment purposes but actually the real life of a human. Therefore it isn’t as explicit as it seems and shouldn’t be put off the broadcasting range because of the life of someone has violence within it.
The video doe has violence within it yet gives a positive representations towards people who have been put down in the past and encourages them to try again as they will like 50cent get back up again.

ofstead commecial ban

This advert is probably banned due to the explicitness of its video and its sexual content. Also children could be viewing this advert and the advert could appeal to them as they could be short sighted and seeing this advert only appeal to adults only. I think the ad should be banned as it is way to explicit for televison and also not a good way to protray a company with serious health issues like eyesight. Eyesight is a important thing in peoples lifes and having adverts which are joked about makes a person think that this company may not be serious about my eyesight and take my health as a joke.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sRcNDv2wTKM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sRcNDv2wTKM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

This advert is funny yet isnt suitable for day time television and should be shown at the watershed period of after a certain time. The advert also consist of some sexual content showing a nude male and also females wearing low cut tops which may be to explicit to be shown at day time. However i think that this advert shoudnt be banned and should be shown during a late night period as the product , the shower gel, is appealed at grown males and the advert is for a grown up man.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wAP2yVsgI6c?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wAP2yVsgI6c?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

This advert doesint show anything explicit but disrespect other products . Having the coca cola product only bought for the purpose of reaching pepsi shows that the coca cola drink has no value and degrades the drink. I think that this advert should be banned as it disrespect another product and gives bad morals towards the other company.

Media Awards Homework ( Mr Bush )

There two movies which i select for analyses are "Sin" and "The essex fairytale".

Sin is basically about a girl who likes a guy but he is in love with another girl so she plans to get him killed. the Trailor consist of fade in effect within the production and close ups. The film first starts of with equilibruim and then is moved in to a disequilibrium genre.  The movie had a good source of props and dialogue . There where different fades of lighting and extreme close ups aswell which consisted within the film. The film seemed targeted toward the teenage audience. This trailor was a chiller and romance genre. This production was good as it was different and unusual and not common in the market at the moment. It wasnt male dominative and showed that a female was in control of the film rather than the male.

The essexs fairytale is a production which is basically about drug dealing how how their is conflict within the drug dealing society and how dangerous it is. It shows how the drug dealer father is torn between his daughter and spouse and the drug dealing. Some parts of the trailer go in to extreme close ups and others go far. Certain parts are in black and white to give an mysteriuous effect. There is also a narrator in the trailor aswell to explain what is happening throughout the movie. This trailor was like a drama genre which consisted of some violence aswell.

Movie analyses ( Mr Bush)

The movie i will be analysing will be Prom Night is a film with a chiller genre. This movie firstly consist of enigma codes by limiting how much the audience knows and has a non linear pattern in the begginign of the movie  where it shows how the female is suffering by her obessed teacher. The movie first starts of in disequilibruim where a obessed teacher is after his student and doesnt want to leave her alone , he results in killing her parents just to be with her but in the end gets arrested . The movie shows that the girl is still suffering in stress that the teacher will eventually come to her and ruin her equilibruin that exist currently. There is a villain in the movie who is played by the teacher , and the donor is the played by the police man who saves the girl just before the obessed killer was about to stab her to death. The Princess is played by the main character, the girl whom is chassed throught the movie by her killer. The movie doesnt consist of a false There is a hero.major action code within the movie is the night of the prom , where the obssesive teacher is with the girl , as he gets sent to prison , he then escapes from it and plans to run away with the girl on the night of her prom as he knows where it will be. Therefore the major action code is the hotel in where the prom is held. He kills all of her friends , the police finally arrives and evacuates everyone from the hotel , everyone is sent home , the girl goes home with her boyfriend , but the killer is hiding in her room , she has a premintion that the killer is in her room and kills her boyfriend whom is sleeping next to her . She wakes up from a startled dream and do exactly what she dreams about , she goes to the bath room and takes her medication , shuts the cabinet mirror door, goes back to her room and discovers that her boyfriends throat is slit and then the killer burst in her room , just then she screams and the killer hides her in the carboard as the police comes and searchs the room as he knows the killer is in the house, the girl fights back to the killer and runs away where she is then caught by the killer again , he is about to kill her when the police comes and shoots the killer. This shows the hero factor in the movie who saves the princess , the girl .

Media homework Ms Wigley

dia Homework

1.        Consider firstly what are the issues surrounding being able to access ideas, words and images from around the world which are not regulated?

By being able to conduct information from all over the world can give a person a variety of thing and a larger range of pictures and information from all over the world. Also you can get different types of ideas from different people and get their views instead of getting them from a limited amount of people.

2.       Who would be responsible for internet regulation?
The person held responsible for internet regulation would normally be the creator of the website who has a say on what can be put up on the website and also to make sure the website retains copy right factors and accurate facts rather than having fiction on the website.

3.       Are there any existing bodies that could/should do this?
Ofsted are one of these bodies which normally take the regulation regarding sources of media like television and radios. I think that there should be a firm authorisation which conducts these regular checkups on the internet websites and to see if there isn’t copy right issues going on and all the information that is given out to the consumer is correct and accurate.

4.       Would it require a new organisation?
It would require a new organisation where the employees are consistently checking up on the websites and making sure no faulty things are happening. The organisation should be on the websites consistently to make sure that the website has good sources of knowledge.
5.       How would the regulation be monitored?
There should be a lot of employees in a working department or work from home and keep an eye on the website to make sure everything is going correctly and no plagiarism is taking place within the site.
6.       What would the disadvantages of internet regulation be?
It would limit the type of information people might receive and it would have to have accurate supervision amounts it to assure that nothing bad is happening on the sites and the correct information is give out

1) The internet is now used more in society
2)more people are uploading things on youtube than ever
3)news paper circulation has gone down
4) last 5 year , there have been 30million people whom read news online
5) 95 % songs downloaded last year were not paid for
6) right now 93% of U.S adults own a mobile phone
